Specialist trades and subcontractors are responsible for carrying out approximately 80% of the construction work in New Zealand. The Specialist Trade Contractors Federation has been involved in legislation to improve the construction environment in New Zealand for over 20 years.
The purpose of the Specialist Trade Contractors Federation is to:
Advance the capabilities and professionalism of the whole construction industry
Be the recognized voice of the specialist trades and subcontractors to the construction industry
Represent to the government and other authorities the interests of our members and the construction industry as a whole
Promote industry wide acceptance of more equitable contract and subcontract conditions and practices
